Course Content
Commercial Pilot License Aeroplanes CPL(A) - Single Engine

Course Aim

The course, gives the training required, to meet the higher level of operational and handling proficiency needed for commercial operations, in single-pilot, single-engine aeroplanes.

To start the course, the student must have an PPL, a minimum of 150 hours total flying time, a night rating and passes in either the ATPL or CPL theoretical knowledge examinations. To take the CPL(A) flight test, the trainee must have a total of 200 hours total time, including 100 Pilot in Command (P1/PIC).

Our suggested method of achieving the qualification most economically is here How to Become a Commercial Pilot.

For Instrument Rating (IR) holders, the course consists of 8 hours in a PA28 Warrior followed by 7 hours in a PA28 Arrow, a single engine trainer with a variable pitch propeller and retractable landing gear.

For non-IR holders, we offer an extended, 25 hour single engine CPL course. However, we recommend the IR is completed first, as this shortens the CPL course by 10 hours.

Once the course has been satisfactorily completed, a test with a CAA designated CPL Flight Examiner will be arranged.

We can conduct a Commercial Pilot Licence training course on a full or part time basis to suit your individual needs.
